About me: As a child, I remember telling everyone that I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Since it's never too late to have a happy childhood, I am more involved in creative art than ever before. My mother was a professional seamstress and my father pursued his passion in woodworking; both serving as great role models. I have explored many crafts; including macrame, paper making, sewing, stained glass, woodworking (turning), beading, glass torch work and now polymer clay. I am mostly self-taught, through books and on-line tutorials. I also pursue in-person classes to improve and learn new techniques.
My inspiration: My inspiration has always been my family's joy in creativity, the personal meaning in hand-crafted items, and the natural jewels in the great outdoors! My first exposure to polymer clay was a number of years ago through a friend and polymer artist, Laurel Swetnam, who gave me a necklace she made. I loved wearing her work of art. The seed was planted - and over the last few years I have been exploring the diverse world of polymer clay. Presently, I am so lucky to have my good friend, Denise Pinnell, as a 'clay-mate', and we have great fun together creating in clay. I am also a member of the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild, which is filled with creative and supportive polymer artists.
